Con conseguenti problemi di salute e in particolare di depressione<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sembra un'idea uscita dal realismo magico dei romanzi di Gabriel Garcia Marquez: un \"ministero della solitudine\". Invece esiste davvero: Theresa May ha deciso di crearlo. D'ora in poi il governo britannico avr\u00e0 un \"ministro per la solitudine\", ha annunciato questa mattina Downing EStreet, che dovr\u00e0 occuparsi di quello che le autorit\u00e0 sanitarie considerano un problema nazionale: 9 milioni di persone che vivono \"isolate\", 2 milioni che vivono da sole, almeno 200 mila anziani che passano settimane senza incontrare nessuno. E poich\u00e9 vivere da soli \u00e8 considerato un fattore di numerose malattie, a partire dalla depressione, la solitudine \u00e8 un problema di salute pubblica per il Regno Unito.<\/p>\n<p>La carica di ministro della solitudine (cos\u00ec si chiamano i sottosegretari nel gergo politico inglese, mentre l'equivalente dei nostri ministri sono i segretari) \u00e8 stata assegnata a Tracey Crouch, deputata conservatrice. Ma la prima a chiedere un'iniziativa governativa di questo tipo \u00e8 stata Jo Cox, la deputata laburista uccisa da un fanatico xenofobo di estrema destra alla vigilia del referendum sulla Brexit, e il primo ministro ha riconosciuto il suo ruolo nel sensibilizzare il mondo politico sul tema.<\/p>\n<p>\"Jo Cox ha compreso le dimensioni della solitudine nel nostro Paese e si \u00e8 dedicata a fare tutto il possibile per sradicarla\", afferma il leader dei Tory, promettendo di continuare sulla strada intrapresa dalla deputata laburista per delineare una strategia per il futuro. I tagli alla spesa pubblica che hanno causato la chiusura di biblioteche e centri per anziani sono generalmente indicati tra le cause del fenomeno, ammette il neo-ministro Crouch, sostenendo per\u00f2 che non esiste un'unica soluzione e sar\u00e0 necessario agire su pi\u00f9 fronti.<\/p>\u00a0Lo scorso dicembre il direttore generale dell'NHS, il sistema sanitario nazionale, ha lanciato l'allarme sugli effetti letali che la solitudine e il gelo possono avere nei mesi invernali. Brendan Cox, vedovo della parlamentare uccisa, commenta: \"Una delle terribili conseguenze della perdita di mia moglie \u00e8 sapere che avrebbe reso il mondo un posto migliore.
