Esta cifra es la continuaci\u00f3n del crecimiento de 0,9% registrado en el periodo anterior.<\/p>\n<p>Los salarios tambi\u00e9n aumentaron m\u00e1s de lo previsto. Sin contar las primas, los ingresos aumentaron un 2,5% interanual.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, el desempleo subi\u00f3, pero sigue siendo bajo (4,4%).<\/p>\n<p>El crecimiento de la productividad -medida por la cantidad de trabajo producido por hora de trabajo- animar\u00e1 a los responsables pol\u00edticos, que se han enfrentado al reto del bajo crecimiento de la productividad desde la crisis financiera.<\/p>\n<p>La ONS se\u00f1al\u00f3 que el sorprendente aumento de la tasa de desempleo planteaba la cuesti\u00f3n de si la larga racha de descenso del desempleo en el Reino Unido podr\u00eda haber llegado a su fin.<\/p>\n<p>El aumento de los salarios sigue por detr\u00e1s de la inflaci\u00f3n, que se situ\u00f3 en 3% a finales del a\u00f1o pasado. As\u00ed pues, el salario medio no ha aumentado en t\u00e9rminos reales. Pero un repunte del crecimiento salarial es otra se\u00f1al de que la econom\u00eda brit\u00e1nica podr\u00eda estar cambiando de rumbo.<\/p>\n<p>Los economistas sugieren que el aumento de los salarios es significativo.<\/p>\n<p>Yael Selfin, economista jefe de KPMG en el Reino Unido, declar\u00f3: \"Hay indicios de que los ingresos semanales medios, que aumentaron 2,5% en el cuarto trimestre, est\u00e1n empezando a responder a la rigidez del mercado laboral, aunque los hogares siguen notando la presi\u00f3n al tener en cuenta la inflaci\u00f3n, con una ca\u00edda de los ingresos reales de 0,3%\".<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n calific\u00f3 las cifras de productividad de \"muy alentadoras\".<\/p>\n<p>\"Si la productividad m\u00e1s fuerte contin\u00faa en 2018, el Banco de Inglaterra podr\u00eda decidir aplazar al menos una vez la subida de tipos este a\u00f1o\", a\u00f1adi\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p>El aumento del desempleo en los tres meses transcurridos hasta finales de diciembre supuso la primera subida de la tasa de paro en dos a\u00f1os.
